How to Access MAP

Use the steps below to access MAP from your browser on the WVU.Encrypted network. Make sure you’re using the recommended version of Java before running MAP.

MAP is not supported on Mac devices.

Access MAP using Microsoft Edge

  1. Navigate to mapprod.wvu.edu.

  2. Enter your WVU Login credentials.

  3. Select the appropriate Responsibility and Menu.

  4. When asked what to do with frmservlet.jnlp, select Open.

Access MAP using Chrome

  1. Navigate to mapprod.wvu.edu.

  2. Enter your WVU Login credentials.

  3. Select the appropriate Responsibility and Menu.

  4. Select Keep when prompted with the message "This type of file can harm your computer. Do you want to keep frmservlet.jnlp anyway?"

  5. Select the arrow to the right of frmservlet.jnlp and select Open.

Access MAP using Firefox

  1. Navigate to mapprod.wvu.edu.

  2. Enter your WVU Login credentials.

  3. Select the appropriate Responsibility and Menu.

  4. Select Open with Java(TM) Web Start Launcher (default), check the box next to "Do this automatically for files like this from now on," and click OK.

  5. Click OK if you receive a message asking "Are you sure you want to launch frmservlet.jnlp?"
