3RQ Access and Group Information

3 Rivers QUEST (3RQ) is a water quality monitoring and reporting program that collects water quality data. QUEST research partners and volunteer organizations upload collected data into the 3RQ database at questdata.wvu.edu.

Volunteers who use the 3RQ water quality database need to be assigned to a group to view the data associated with that group.

Note: Only 3RQ administrators have the ability to add users to groups.

How to add a person to a group:

  1. Find the Group. After logging into the 3RQ database, locate the Groups link in the Three Rivers QUEST Maintenance list located on the Administration tab. Use a wildcard search to find the group by placing an asterisk (*) around all or part of the group name. For example, if searching for Duquesne, enter Duq* in the Group Name field.

  2. After locating the group in the search results, use Edit to choose the group to which you want to add the user.

  3. On the Group page, click on either Member Identifier or Name to search for the user to add.

  4. Either of the searches in Step 3 will populate the Person Lookup page. From this page, enter search criteria for the person's name who needs added. Select the user from the search results by clicking Return Value.

  5. Verify that the user has been added correctly, add any active dates if desired, and click the Add button.

  6. Enter something in the Description field and click the submit button.

To confirm that the user has been added, use the close button, go into Groups, find the group to which you just added the user and make sure the name is in the Members area.
