Preparing to Migrate to Zoom Phone

If your department has determined that you need to keep your phone line:

  • Download the Zoom Workplace application. (If you already use Zoom for videoconferencing, you likely already have it, but phone functions will be available only after your department has migrated to Zoom Phone.)

  • Log in to confirm you are are using the WVU instance of Zoom by logging in at https://wvu.zoom.us/ using single sign-on (SSO). You should reach the web version of Zoom. Review the Zoom Accounts article for full login instructions.

    • You will not be able to access WVU Zoom Phone using a personal Zoom account.

    • If you use your primary WVU email address for a personal Zoom account, or have never logged into the WVU Zoom account when your Zoom Phone license is assigned, you will receive a notice from “no-reply@zoom.us” with instructions. The steps in the instructions must be completed before your Zoom Phone can be licensed and configured.

  • Optional: You can download the Zoom Phone app to your personal cell phone.
