Outlook for Mac Zoom Add-in

Zoom no longer supports their Outlook for Mac Plugin. Zoom has replaced the Plugin with a new version called an Add-in. If you are still using the Plugin, or if you are unsure which you are using, follow the instructions below.

Determine what is currently installed

If you are unsure whether you are affected, you can verify what you have installed by looking for specific icons in Outlook for Mac.

Check for Zoom Plugin

1. Open the Outlook for Mac application.

2. Click Home on the ribbon menu if not already selected.

3. Look for the Zoom icon in the ribbon menu. If the Zoom icon is displayed, then the Zoom Plugin is installed. Follow the steps below to uninstall the Zoom Plugin and then install the Zoom Add-in. 

Check for Zoom Add-in

1. Open the Outlook for Mac application.

2. Open your Calendar.

3. Add a new Appointment or Meeting.

4. Look for the Add a Zoom meeting and Settings icons in the ribbon menu. If these icons are displayed, then the Zoom Add-in is installed. 

Uninstall the Zoom Plugin

If you determined that the Zoom Plugin is currently installed, you will need to uninstall it from Outlook for Mac.

1. Open a new Mac Finder window.

2. Navigate to Applications > ZoomOutlookPlugin.

3. Run the Uninstall application.

4. Restart Outlook for Mac.

To check if the uninstall was successful, follow the earlier steps on determining if the Zoom Plugin is installed. The Zoom icon should no longer be present.

Install the Zoom Add-in

1. Open the Outlook for Mac application.

2. Click Home > Get Add-ins in the ribbon menu.

3. Type “Zoom for Outlook” in the search field.

4. Select Zoom for Outlook.

5. Click the Add button to install the Add-in into your Outlook calendar. Close the Store window when the installation is complete.

To check if the install was successful, follow the earlier steps on determining if the Zoom Add-in is installed.
