HSC Zoom Uses and Prerequisites

Mountaineer Doctor Television (MDTV) has a Business Associates Agreement to provide secure Telehealth Services. Below is a list of approved MDTV Zoom account uses and the prerequisites for requesting a HIPAA-compliant Zoom account.

Approved Zoom uses for HSC faculty and staff

• Administrative Meetings that include PHI

• Clinical Encounters w/Patients NOT IN EPIC

• Clinical Discussions that do/don't include PHI

• Clinical Supervision

• Exam Proctoring

• Faculty Teaching

Approved Zoom uses for HSC student accounts

• Clinical encounters w/ patients NOT IN EPIC

• Clinical supervision

• Exam proctoring

Request a HIPAA-compliant Zoom account

First make sure you meet these prerequisites before submitting your request:

• Complete HSC ITS Security Awareness Training

• Complete HIPAA Training (If selecting PHI)

• Review Zoom's Acceptable Use Policy

• Review Zoom Recording Policy for Clinical Supervision if patient encounter recordings are required.

• All users accessing a HIPAA-compliant Zoom account must acknowledge and agree to the HSC Zoom account policies and procedures.
