Zoom Phone Adoption Plan

All WVU employees on all campuses will transition to Zoom Phone between January 2025 and July 1, 2026.

Information Technology Services (ITS) piloted the platform in December 2024 to develop resources to help ensure a smooth transition for other departments and colleges. The Beckley and Keyser campuses will follow in early 2025.

Academic and administrative units on the Morgantown main campus will begin the transition in late January 2025, with migration occurring in phases. The transition is expected to be complete by late summer 2025. The Morgantown Health Sciences Campus will then follow.

In October 2024, ITS began working with business officers across the University to determine what phone numbers to retain as part of this transition. Those decisions will be made at the college or department level. Typically, ITS will provide 30 days’ notice of the scheduled change for each unit.
