Plug N Play Classroom Guide
Plug N Play (Bring Your Own Device) classrooms only have an input panel as its source. No instructor computer is in the lectern, meaning you must bring your own device such as a laptop, tablet, or other to use the audio-visual (AV) instructional technology system (includes projection) in the room.
To operate the AV system and plug in your device, use the controls and input panel installed on the wall near the front of the classroom.
Plug N Play panel controls
Locate the room controls at the front of the classroom. These controls consist of a push-button control pad, input panel, projection screen controls, and power outlet.
Control pad The control pad allows you to turn the projector on and off and adjust the room volume. | Projection screen controls Use the arrow buttons to raise or lower the motorized projection screen.
| Input panel The input panel has HDMI and VGA input to connect your portable device. |
Connect your device to the input panel
Each Plug N Play classroom has a selection of adapters that allow portable devices with DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, and others to connect via HDMI. Depending on the connection your device requires, you may need to bring your own video adapter.
To connect your device to the projection system, use an HDMI cable. The HDMI input connection will send both high-definition video and audio from a digital device to the projection system.
If you have been using a VGA adapter to connect your device, you will need to upgrade to an HDMI adapter to be sure you can use your device in the classroom. The VGA connection in classrooms is currently being phased out.
We highly recommend testing your portable device in the classroom prior to your class or event.
