Access Your CSEE Shell Via PuTTY
To connect to your CSEE Linux shell, you will need an SSH client. PuTTY is a full-featured SSH client for Windows and Unix.
How do I download PuTTY?
Download the Windows executable here. Save it to a folder of your choice. When the download is complete, double-click to run the application.
Configure PuTTY
With PuTTY open, enter the address of the shell server in the destination field. For CSEE, the address is: shell.csee.wvu.edu
Once entered, simply press enter to connect. This may prompt you to accept the server's authentication key, which you must do to continue to the login.
Login to Your Shell:
At the prompt, enter your username and password. Remember, for security, Unix shells do not display entered characters as a user types their password.
You must be enrolled in a Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering course to have access to a CSEE shell account. For information concerning your account, call the LCSEE helpdesk at 304-293-3475.
