National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) Certificates

Current and former students can access the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) website to download certificates for good student discounts and current enrollment verification.
Current students
Log into the WVU Portal.
Click STAR.
Click Student Services & Housing.
Click Registration or Student Records.
Click Request NSC Enrollment or Good Student Discount Verification.
If this is your first time logging into the NSC website, you’ll be prompted to agree to the terms and conditions and set up a multi-factor authentication method. Select SMS text, email, or Google authentication and provide your information. You’ll be asked to verify your identity using this method whenever you log into the NSC website.
If you need to change your multi-factor authentication method for the NSC website, please contact NSC for support.
After logging in, select Self Service from the top-left navigation menu.
Select West Virginia University from the School dropdown menu.
Select the Certification type.
Click Download.
If you need assistance accessing STAR, contact the ITS Service Desk.
Parents do not have access to this information in the Parent Guest Portal. Students must request the verification forms through STAR.
Former students
Visit the Office of the University Registrar’s Academic Records page for steps to access certificates as a former student.
Error messages
If you receive an error after requesting an enrollment verification, please email the Office of the University Registrar at registrar@mail.wvu.edu to request the verification certificate. The Office of the University Registrar can check the NSC Database to ensure your information is updated then send you the information.
