Drop or Withdraw From Classes
You can drop your classes through STAR prior to the withdraw deadline published in the Academic Calendar if you have no holds. The last day to drop a full term course without a “W” is during the first week of the semester. View the Registrar’s Add and Drop Dates page and Withdrawal Policies for more information. If you need assistance with dropping a class, please contact the Office of the Registrar.
Drop a class in STAR
Sign into the WVU Portal using your Login credentials.
Click the STAR link.
From the main menu in STAR, click Student Services and Housing.
Click Access Registration Tools.
Click Add or Drop Classes.
Select the appropriate term.
In the bottom right section of the page, under the Action column, select Dropped Course on Web or Course dropped with a “W.”
Verify you are dropping the correct course and click Submit. If you do not click the Submit, you will NOT be dropped from the class(es) you have selected. You will be prompted with a message before leaving the screen if you have not submitted your changes.
If you have a hold that does not let you change your registration, you will either need to come into the WVU Hub or send an email to registrar@mail.wvu.edu from your MIX account explaining that you need to drop a course.
