  • Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

  • Microsoft Teams

  • Desktop Media Viewer

  • VLC Media Player

  • Windows Camera

Turn on the touch panel

The touch panel is located on top of the lectern and is used to connect the PC to the projector.

  1. If the screen is blank, it’s in sleep mode. Press firmly on the touch panel surface then press anywhere on the screen to start the class session.

  2. The system will power on. You will see the projection screens come down, projectors power up, etc.

  3. After it’s powered on, the touch panel will display the main control screen. You may select sources to be seen through the projector, control room equipment, and change volume settings.

    1. Projector controls:

      • Classrooms with one projector: Press the PC button in the left portion of the touch panel.

      • Classrooms with two projectors: Select PC1 to display the main PC image, or select PC2 to display the extended desktop. Project the selected image onto the left or right projection screen by pressing the appropriate Display Left or Display Right buttons in the lower-center portion of the touch panel.

    2. Audio controls: If you are using digitized audio/video clips or streaming A/V, adjust the volume using the touch panel’s Room volume slider control. You may mute the volume by pressing the speaker icon below the slider bar.

End a class session

  1. Ensure the lectern doors are closed and locked.

  2. Locate the touch panel on top of the lectern, If the screen is blank, press anywhere on the screen to clear the sleep screen.

  3. End the session by pressing the Press here to end class area at the top of the touch panel screen.

  4. The touch panel will indicate it’s powering down and the system will begin to power off projectors, raise screens, etc.

Classroom troubleshooting

  • No sound from the computer, even though the touchpanel control volume is up:

    • Check to make sure that the volume on the PC itself has not been muted or turned down by double (left) clicking on the speaker icon in the lower right portion of the PC screen and increase the volume.

    • Press the PC button on the touchpanel to ensure the audio from the PC has been selected in addition to the image.

    • If there is still no audio, click on the speaker icon on the PC again, then click the expand menu arrow. Playback device should be set to Realtek(R) Audio Speakers for most classrooms. In some instances, audio playback is through the AMX output device. If neither of these work, please contact the CTec helpline for assistance.

    • If the audio is coming directly from the PC's small internal speaker, it has most likely become unplugged. Please contact the CTec helpline immediately for a technician to reconnect it for you.

  • Desktop isn't appearing the same on the monitor as on the projector: This issue may occur in older analog classrooms. On the keyboard, press and hold the Windows button, then press P. This brings up the projection menu. In classrooms with only one projection display, select Duplicate. In dual-projection or multi-display classrooms, select Extend.

  • Can't access OneDrive: If the shortcut isn't working, or not found, use Office 365 to access it through a web browser.
