Adding Images to Your Store

You can add a banner image to your store as well as to individual products. All images must adhere to University Relations guidelines.

Banner Images

You can provide a custom image to ITS to be added to the store home page.

Banner Image Requirements

  • The image dimensions should be 1140 x 320 pixels or a smaller file that roughly matches that aspect ratio (it will stretch the image to fill that size space).

  • White backgrounds sometimes look better because there will be a small white gap on either side of the banner image – the white gap cannot be eradicated.

  • You must provide alternate text for the image.

  • Store managers can choose to provide a URL if the customer clicks on the banner image. However, the site will open in the same window or tab, not a new one, replacing the store page.

  • Acceptable image filetypes: PNG, GIF, or JPEG.

  • Maximum file size of 500K.

Category Images

The default category image is a flying WV dark blue icon. ITS staff add this image when they create the category during store set-up. Store managers can provide ITS with different images to differentiate categories.

Category Image Requirements

  • Best result is using an image with the recommended W x H: 400 x 400 pixels.

  • Image should be a square shape if not 400 x 400 – otherwise the image will be truncated.

  • Acceptable image filetypes: PNG, GIF, or JPEG.

  • Maximum file size is 500 KB.

Product Images

Store managers can add images to their products as part of editing the product’s details.

Product Image Requirements

  • Best result is using an image with the recommended W x H: 800 x 800 pixels.

  • Image can be smaller than 800 by 800 but square is best (e.g., 400 x 400 or 500 x 500 pixels).

  • A maximum of ten images can be uploaded per product.

  • Acceptable image filetypes: PNG, GIF, or JPEG.

  • Maximum file size is 500 KB.

Adding a Product Image

  1. Navigate to your store and Store Settings.

  2. Click Products.

  3. In the Products list, click the name of your product.

  4. Scroll down to the Product Image Management for Stores region.

  5. Click Add Product Image.

  6. Click Choose File and locate your image.

  7. Click Upload Now.

  8. Click Save.
