Connect Your Chromebook to WVU's Wi-Fi

WVU students, faculty, and staff should connect to the WVU.Encrypted network. WVU students and employees trying to connect to WVU.Guest will receive an error message since it is intended for campus guests. Students and employees should connect to WVU.Encrypted for more secure access.

How do I connect my Chromebook to the WVU.Encrypted network?

  1. Click the Network icon in the lower-right corner of your screen.

  2. Select your network status from the menu that appears.

  3. Select Join other in the lower-left corner.

  4. Select Advanced in the lower-left corner.

  5. Ensure the configuration settings appear as follows:

    • SSID: WVU.Encrypted

    • EAP Method: PEAP

    • Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPv2

    • Server CA Certificate: Do not check

    • User Certificate: None Installed

    • Identity: Login Username

    • Password: Login Password

    • Anonymous Identity: [Empty]

    • If prompted for a server or domain suffix, enter wvu.edu.

Note: If you receive authentication or an "Out-of-Range" error, allow Wi-Fi to determine your location. Go to Settings > Location > Use Wi-Fi to Determine My Location.
