Remote Access for International Travel

WVU employees are unable to use the GlobalProtect VPN when traveling internationally. Employees may use the Clientless (SSL) VPN or Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) to access applications that require a WVU network or VPN connection while outside of the United States.

  • Clientless (SSL) VPN: All WVU employees and student workers have access to the browser-based Clientless (SSL) VPN. This VPN allows you to access Applaud and complete administrative tasks. Learn more on the Clientless (SSL) VPN page.

  • Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD): AVD allows users to access virtual desktops and resources that require a WVU network or VPN connection. Employees must request access to AVD prior to traveling. View the Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) page for more information about how AVD works and how to request access.

View the WVU Global Affairs website for more information about registering your WVU equipment before traveling.
