Invalid Credentials When Logging Into CITI
The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) provides training modules that help researchers nationwide learn to comply with federal standards as they conduct research. The WVU Office of Human Research Protections (OHRP) requires certifications through some CITI training modules.
WVU employees must use their WVU login when accessing CITI online. If you have a non-technical question about CITI, such as what module you need to complete to submit an IRB protocol, contact the OHRP at 304-293-7073.
CITI offers full support for Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari. CITI blocks use of Internet Explorer version 7. You must use Internet Explorer 8 or later versions or use current version of Chrome, Firefox or Safari.
Problem
You receive the "Invalid Credentials" message when logging into CITI.
Solution
If you are using Internet Explorer, try accessing CITI in Internet Explorer's Compatibility View or in another browser. The preferred browsers for the system are Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
Confirm your WVU Login works correctly in other systems. If it does not, you may need to reset your account at login.wvu.edu.
If you do not have a WVU Login, you need to sign into CITI using the regular CITI sign-on section, not the Log in via SSO link.
If the "Invalid Credentials" message persists when logging in with your valid Login, contact the ITS Service Desk to requesting your credentials be checked.
If the ITS Service Desk confirms that there is no issue with your Login credentials, contact CITI about the status of your merged accounts.
