How to Create a CITI Account

Health Sciences Center (HSC) and WVU Medicine (WVUM) users without a WVU shared account should follow these steps to create a Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) account.
If you have a shared account or are only affiliated with WVU, you do not need to create a CITI account. View the CITI Training page for instructions to log into CITI with your WVU Login credentials.

Create a CITI account
Go to citiprogram.org.
Click Register.
Complete the required fields on each screen for Steps 1 through 7.
Step 1: In the Select Your Organiziation Affiliation field, select West Virginia University.
Check the boxes to agree to the Terms of Service and affirm affiliation with WVU, then click Create a CITI Program account.
Step 2: Enter your personal information.
Step 3: Create your username and password. You must use the SAME username and email that you use to log in to WVU+kc.
Step 4: Choose your country of residence.
Step 5: Choose No when asked whether you want to receive Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits to avoid changes.
Step 6: Provide the required WVU information. You must use your WVU-affiliated email address as your Institutional Email Address.
Step 7: Choose your training courses then click Complete Registration at the bottom of the page.
