Trim OneDrive Videos Using the Photos App

Videos saved to OneDrive do not support the stream video editing tools previously found in the Stream application. If you record a video in Teams, or need to edit a video now stored in OneDrive, you can use the Microsoft Photos application to trim the video.

How to trim a video using the Photos app (Windows 10):

  1. Download the video from OneDrive locally to your computer.

  2. Open the Photos app.

  3. Click the video you want to edit.

  4. Click Edit & Create in the top-right corner and select the Trim option.

  5. Use the white (right and left) pins to select the part of the video you want to trim.

  6. Use the blue pin to scrub the footage to make sure you're trimming the correct section.

  7. Click Save a copy in the top-right corner.

Once you complete these steps, the Photos app will process the video (this can take some time depending on the video length). After it's processed, a trimmed version of the file with only the part you want to keep will be made available. This feature does not edit the original video; it will create a new file with the new trimmed footage.
