Microsoft 365 OneNote Class Notebook

With Microsoft 365's OneNote Class Notebook application, instructors can create a collaborative online space for classwork and notes. Your class notebook will have the following 3 sections:

  • Collaboration Space (students and teachers can work together): Both teacher(s) and students can edit the content.

  • Content Library (public course materials to students): Teacher(s) can edit and students can only view or copy the content.

  • Student Notebooks (a private space for each student): Teacher(s) can view and edit each student's notebook, but students can only view and edit their own notebook.

How do I create a notebook for my class?

  1. Log into the Microsoft 365 web app.

  2. Click on the app launcher icon in the upper-left corner and select Class Notebook from the drop-down.

  3. Click Create a class notebook.

  4. Follow the prompted steps to create your class notebook. If you need help following the steps, watch Microsoft's Collaborating in the classroom with the OneNote Class Notebook: Teacher Scenarios video.
