WVU Login accounts moved to a new platform, Okta, on June 1st, 2025 to streamline access to services. WVU’s multi-factor authentication platform, Duo, will be retired October 1, 2025, and WVU users will be required to authenticate using Okta Verify or a supported multi-factor token.

July - August 2025

Applications will be migrated to Okta authentication. WVU users should activate their WVU Login accounts in Okta, but Duo will still be required to authenticate. We strongly encourage users to enroll in Okta Verify to prepare for the Duo retirement in October.

Sept. 9, 2025

All WVU users will be required to enroll in Okta Verify when they log into WVU applications in preparation for the Duo retirement. Duo will still be required for authentication.

Oct. 1, 2025

Duo will be retired and cease to function. All WVU services will use Okta authentication and WVU users must have the Okta Verify app or a supported multi-factor token to log in.
