Enroll in Okta Verify

Download the Okta Verify mobile app

  1. Download the Okta Verify app from the App Store or Google Play on the mobile device you want to use to authenticate. If you’re unable to download the app, view Okta Verify’s supported platforms to ensure your device supports the latest version.

  2. Log into okta.wvu.edu on your computer or separate device.

  3. Select Enroll in Okta Verify under the list of Apps on your dashboard.

  4. Click Set up. This will automatically generate a QR code to finish set up on your phone or tablet.

  5. Open the Okta Verify app on your device. If this is your first time using Okta Verify, tap Get Started. Otherwise, click the plus sign (+) at the top of the screen to add a new account.

  6. Choose Organization for your account type.

  7. Tap Yes, Ready to scan and allow access to the camera if prompted.

  8. Tap Allow if you want to receive authentication push notifications instead of opening the Okta Verify app each time you authenticate.

  9. When prompted, tap Scan a QR code, then scan the QR code from the set up screen.

If you have issues scanning the QR code, click the Can’t scan? link. You can select to generate a text or email link to finish set up on your device instead.

  1. A Set up security methods screen will ask if you want to add any additional security methods, like a multi-factor token, to your account. This step is optional, and you can add or update your security methods at any time through okta.wvu.edu (login.wvu.edu).

  2. Click Continue to complete enrollment.
