Request Access to Employee Email or Extend Employee Access

Employees may request access to a former employee’s email account or request to extend a former employee’s access. These requests should be submitted as soon as possible; these requests are subject to an approval process and some account information is deleted after 30 days of inactivity.

Requests for extended employee access must include which WVU systems they need to access. Requests to access a former employee’s email will grant supervisors no more than 30 days of access.

Contact employeerelations@mail.wvu.edu to begin the account access and extension request process. Someone will coordinate with your area’s director or dean to approve the request. If approved, they will contact the ITS Service Desk to fulfill the access request on your behalf.
