"Hold for Authentication" Mac Computer Printing Error
Mac computers may experience an error when trying to print to a network printer. You may receive a "Hold for authentication" error when using a Mac to print to a network printer. This error generally means that a bad password has been entered when trying to print. When a network printer is first installed on a Mac, it will ask to enter credentials for use. The credentials box will generally default to the local Mac login instead of specifically asking for the WVU Login account.
Solution
Go to Finder, Applications, Utilities and open Keychain Access
Navigate to the keychain for the printer and delete it (you can use the search field to type in the printer name).
Send a new print job and when prompted, enter your WVU Login username and password.
