Set Up Voicemail
When you set up your voicemail for the first time, you will need to complete an enrollment process, which requires you to create a voicemail pin.
How do I set up my voicemail?
If you are calling the voicemail system from your phone, press the button with the envelope icon. This is your “messages” button.
The system will ask for your PIN.
If you are a WVU Morgantown Campus employee, your default PIN will be 26506
If you are a WVU Tech Campus employee, the default PIN is 25802
If you are a WVU Keyser Campus employee, the default PIN is 267261
The system will talk you through the Enrollment process, where you record your name and greeting and change the PIN. The PIN must be at least six digits and cannot be anything easy to hack (such as 123456 or 111111).
Once you have completed Enrollment, the system will take you through the process to listen to your messages.
How do I know if I have any new messages?
There are three indicators of new messages:
A red light on the handset
An envelope icon next to your extension number on the phone’s screen display
The words “You have voicemail” will appear at the bottom of the display.
Can I listen to my messages from another phone?
To access voicemail from another phone or from outside the University, dial the external access number for your campus:
Morgantown Campus: 304-293-5000
WVU Tech Campus: 304-929-0329
Keyser Campus: 304-788-6900
When the system answers, press * (star or asterisk button) and then provide your ID.
Morgantown Campus: Your ID is 3 + the last four digits of your University phone number (3XXXX)
WVU Tech and Keyser Campuses: Your ID is 2 + the last four digits of your University phone number (2XXXX)
After you enter your ID, press the # (pound or hashtag) button. You will then be asked to enter your PIN and will have access to voicemail.
