Jabber Information for Call Center Technicians
If you have a Jabber call center account, use the steps below when you first sign into Jabber. After that, use the same login information for Jabber as the physical phone.
Note: If you need to request a Jabber call center account, submit a Telecommunications ticket.
Logging in:
Enter your agent extension with the domain @wvu.edu if you are on Windows or @jabber.wvu.edu if you are on Mac (example: 40066@wvu.edu or 40066@jabber.wvu.edu). Click Continue.
The domain will be removed automatically from your call center agent extension. Enter the normal call center password.
Accept any certificates if prompted. Once logged into Jabber your agent line will be associated with your softphone. You can now sign into Finesse using your same login credentials.
Minimizing the Jabber pop up window during active calls:
Log into Jabber.
Click the Menu in the upper right corner.
Go to File then Options.
Click Calls on the left side of the menu.
Set the Computer drop-down box under "Bring the conversation window to the front:" to Never or On Video Calls Only.
Note: You will still receive the Answer/Ignore for incoming calls, but will no longer have to minimize Jabber behind Finesse or any other browsers you are using.
