What if I don't have a Smartphone? (Public)

If you don’t have a smartphone, you may not be able to take full advantage of certain WVU services. This list highlights known services that rely heavily on smartphones and includes alternatives where available.

Duo Mobile App

Duo is the WVU Multi-factor authentication solution and is used to login to secure WVU systems like portal.wvu.edu and http://ecampus.wvu.edu .

Alternative 1: Generate backup codes to use for authentication instead of the smartphone app.

Alternative 2: Hardware display tokens may be purchased at the WVU Bookstore to accommodate users without access to smartphones. Customers will need to call the WVU Bookstore to purchase a token if they are not able to go to the bookstore.  Add a Duo Display Token - Jira Service Management (atlassian.net)
