Qualtrics Survey Software

Qualtrics is a University-wide, web-based tool for creating and conducting online surveys. Qualtrics makes sophisticated research simple and empowers users to capture employee experience insights in one place. Remember that your access to Qualtrics is meant to be used for WVU business and academic purposes, not for personal use or private businesses.

The University-wide Qualtrics system should not be used to collect Sensitive Data. If you need to collect data that the University identifies as Sensitive Date, please submit an account request form for an account on a secure Qualtrics environment.

You will be asked to read and agree to the terms when setting up your account.

Eligibility

Faculty can use this software.

Staff can use this software.

Students can use this software.

How to order

  1. To obtain and use a WVU Qualtrics account, you must be a WVU student or employee with active Login credentials.

  2. If your email address ends in wvu.edu, go to http://wvu.ca1.qualtrics.com/.

    • If your WVU email address ends in @wvumedicine.org, please submit an ITS request to have your account created manually.

  3. Log in with your WVU Login credentials.

  4. Review the Terms of Service and click I accept at the bottom.

  5. You will then be logged into your account and will see the My Projects landing page. 

  6. Click Create Project to create your first survey.

Software features

  • Send and track participation invitations and reminders.

  • Display survey results in real time, graphically and statistically, and export results in a variety of formats.

  • Customize the look of your survey using WVU branded templates.

  • Create Folders for survey organization and Groups for easily sharing surveys.

  • Share surveys with non-WVU Qualtrics users for collaboration.

  • Qualtrics is supported on Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome browsers.

  • Training and support documentation is available at www.qualtrics.com/support.

  • If you need assistance during WVU business hours, submit a WVU ITS request.

  • If you need assistance outside of WVU business hours, submit a ticket to Qualtrics:

    • Go to qualtrics.com/support-center.

    • Click Sign in with SSO.

    • Enter wvu in the Organization ID box and click Continue.

    • Log in with your WVU username and password.

    • Select the nature of your request.

    • Select Survey Platform as your Qualtrics product.

    • Select the support communication method that works best for you.

    • Provide a detailed description of your question or problem and submit your request.
