Follow these steps to install SAS after you have purchased SAS software and received an order confirmation email.

There are 2 zipped files required for installation:

  • License files: Find the Digital File Download below the shipping information in your order confirmation email. This download contains the SAS license files. You only need the file for your operating system and the version of SAS you want.

  • Program installation files: The zipped file at slic-sas.wvu.edu contains the SAS program installation.

Install SAS

  1. Download the appropriate file linked in the order confirmation email. You will need to select the same version in Step 3. Please note where you save these files; you will need them later in the installation process.

  2. Go to slic-sas.wvu.edu and enter your WVU login credentials.

  3. Choose the SAS .zip file you want to install. You may be asked to enter your WVU Login credentials again.

  4. Once the file has finished downloading click on the downloaded .zip file.

  5. Open the Downloads folder, right-click on the SAS94_M5 file then click Extract All.

  6. Click Extract. The default folder should be the Downloads folder. This may take about 30 minutes to complete.

  7. Open the extracted folder, scroll to find the setup application in the folder, then double-click the application. 

  8. Choose the language and click OK.

  9. Choose Install SAS software then click Next.

  10. Click Next on the Specify SAS Home screen.

  11. Select Install SAS Foundation and Related Software then click Next.

  12. Click Next on the Select Products to Install screen.

  13. Select which SAS Foundation you would like based on your computer.

  14. Click Next on the Select SAS Enterprise Guide Mode screen.

  15. Click Next on the Select SAS Foundation Products screen.

  16. Click Browse then select the folder where you saved the file(s) in Step 1.

  17. Select the text document that corresponds with the version of SAS you installed.

  18. Click Next (Specify SAS Installation Data File screen).

  19. Unselect any languages you will not need and click Next.

  20. Click Next (Select Regional Settings screen).

  21. Select the same SAS Foundation as in Step 13.

  22. Click Next on the Checking system screen.

  23. Click Start. It may take a few minutes to load.

  24. 2Click Next on the Deployment Complete screen.

  25. Click Start on the Select Support Option screen.

  26. Click Finish.
