Course Banners in eCampus

Instructors can upload a custom course banner to display on their course's home page. Banners can be GIF, JPEG or PNG files. A recommended size for banners is approximately 480 by 80 pixels.

How to add a course banner (on the home page)

You can apply a banner to the header/title area of a page in eCampus. Choose your main home page for this operation to place a course banner on the home page.

1. Enter a Course, stay on the home page for the course.

2. Click the drop-down chevron next to the home page title, then select Page Banner.

3. Click the plus icon to see more options.

4. Select Insert Local Files (from your computer) or Insert Course Files (from the Content Collection).

5. Select the banner image you wish to use.

6. Click Submit to place the image in the Banner field.

7. Select Submit at the bottom of the page to apply the new banner image.

How to add a banner for the Course Entry Point

eCampus defines a Course Entry Point for each course: this will be the landing page students see when they enter the course. On the Teaching Style settings page, you can add a banner than will be applied to whichever content page is selected as the entry point.

1. Enter a Course.

2. In the Course Management Control Panel, click on Customization, then choose Teaching Style.
   In the Select Course Entry Point section, you’ll see which page is set as the landing page when students enter the course.

3. In the Select Banner section, click the Browse Local Files button in the New Banner Image field.

4. Select the image file to upload and click Open. The file name will appear as the selected file.

5. Enter a description in the Banner Alt Text field.

6. Click Submit to apply the new banner image to the selected course entry point page.
