Respondus LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor for Instructors
Respondus LockDown Browser
Respondus LockDown Browser is a locked browser for taking tests in eCampus (Blackboard). It prevents test takers from printing, copying, going to another URL or accessing other applications during a test. Only students need to download the LockDown Browser.
Students should refer to the Respondus LockDownBrowser article for download instructions. LockDown Browser for Chromebook is now available as a final release. K12 students who are in dual enrollment (High school access) at WVU and use Chromebooks managed by K12, can use Respondus Lockdown Browser (RLDB). The Chromebook extension additionally supports the Respondus Monitor proctoring application.
Additional notes:
It is no longer necessary for instructors to enable the Chromebook option on a per exam basis.
An older version of the Chromebook app for LockDown Browser (based on Kiosk mode and only available for managed devices) was deprecated as of September 2021. Google is ended support for this type of Chromebook app. Attached is a guide for Managed Chromebooks to remove the older Chromebook App from managed devices.

Respondus Monitor
Respondus Monitor is a part of the LockDown Browser that enables institutions to protect the integrity of non-proctored, online exams. There are no fees, registrations costs, or departmental charges associated with using Respondus Monitor. Students use their own computer and a webcam to record assessment sessions, all without leaving the institution's learning management system which is eCampus.
