Look Up WVUID Number

WVUIDs are unique nine-digit numbers used to identify WVU students, staff and faculty. Follow these steps to look up your WVUID in STAR, Applaud, or with your personal information.

Look up your WVUID in STAR

Students and former students can log into STAR to view their WVUID.

1. Log into the WVU Portal and select STAR.
   Note: Former students can access STAR at star.wvu.edu and enter their WVU Login credentials.

2. Select Student Services & Housing.

3. Select Student Records.

4. Select Student Profile. Your WVUID will be listed next to your name at the top of the page.

Look up your WVUID in Applaud

Employees can access Applaud through the WVU Portal or the clientless VPN in their web browser.

WVU Portal

1. Ensure you’re connected to the WVU VPN.

2. Log into portal.wvu.edu.

3. Ensure you are in the Employee view. Use the navigation menu in the top-left corner to switch views if needed.

4. Select any of the MyHR links listed to open Applaud.

5. Select the Profile tab. Your WVUID will be listed under Work information.

Clientless VPN

1. Log into remote.wvu.edu.

2. Select the Applaud tile.

3. Select the Profile tab. Your WVUID will be listed under Work information.

Look up your WVUID using personal information

If you’ve forgotten your WVU Login credentials, or can’t log into WVU websites, use your personal information to look up your WVUID.

1. Go to login.wvu.edu/self-service/lookup.

2. Enter your birthdate in MM/DD/YYYY format.

3. Enter your Social Security or employee number.

4. Click Submit.

5. Your WVUID will be provided on-screen.
