SPSS Installation

SPSS is licensed for instructional use only; the licensee may only use these programs for teaching
and non-commercial academic research on computers owned or leased by the licensee.
Students, faculty, and staff can purchase this software for their personal computers using
personal funds.
Install SPSS
Go to https://slic-spss.wvu.edu/ and log in using your WVU login credentials.
Select the installation link that corresponds with the operating system you are using.
Go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate install .zip file.
Extract (unzip) file before installing the software.
Scroll through the list of programs until you find the folder called IBM SPSS SPSS Statistics. Click
on this folder to expand the contents.Right-click IBM SPSS Statistics (version #) License authorization wizard, click more then choose
Run as Administrator. If you do not have admin rights on your computer, you will need to contact the ITS Service Desk at 304-293-4444.Click yes when the User account control box comes up.
When the License Status box appears, click next.
Choose “Authorized user license” then click next.
Locate the license key sent in the order confirmation email, it will be listed In the Digital Download section under the Shipping Information.
Enter the license key and click next.
Continue with defaults until this is completed.
