What is Zoom Phone? |
Zoom Phone is a full-service, cloud-based calling solution that will better support supports a large workforce with many hybrid and remote staff. The desktop application also eliminates and mobile applications eliminate the need for expensive onsite hardware that must be maintained and periodically replaced.

Zoom Phone adoption plan |
Between January 2025 and July 1, 2026, all WVU employees will transition to Zoom Phone.
Information Technology Services (ITS) will pilot the platform first and create resources to help ensure a smooth transition for other departments and colleges. The Beckley and Keyser campuses will then follow.
Around mid-October, ITS will begin working with business officers across the University to determine what phone numbers to retain as part of this transition.View theZoom Phone Adoption Plan page for a full timeline and progress updates.

You must be logged into your WVU Zoom account at wvu.zoom.us or using Zoom Workplace to be able to access Zoom Phone. If your account is not setup properly when Zoom phone is added, you will receive an email invitation to join the WVU Zoom. You will need to complete this process before your phone will work in Zoom. Contact the Service Desk if you have questions or concerns. Review the Zoom Accounts article for full login instructions. |
