Adobe offers a comprehensive line of software for enterprise and creative professional customers. Its products enable customers to create, manage, and deliver visually rich, compelling, and reliable content. With the launch at WVU of Adobe Creative Cloud, most Adobe products can now be obtained via download on WVU-owned computers with no fees being assessed by SLIC.

For the most popular Adobe software offered by WVU see below:

  • Adobe Captivate is a tool to develop interactive eLearning experiences for a multi-device world and enables users to see how their custom content will appear on various mobile and desktop screens. 

  • Adobe Presenter allows you to create interactive training videos, demonstrations and video presentations. 

  • Adobe ColdFusion is an application server that offers users a single platform to rapidly build and deploy web and mobile applications.

  • Adobe Sign is an Adobe Document Cloud solution which is a cloud-based, enterprise-class e-signature service that lets you replace paper and ink signature processes with fully automated electronic signature workflows. With it, you can easily send, sign, track, and manage signature processes using a browser.

Adobe has removed the free functionality to request signatures from WVU's Creative Cloud tool set. This means you may still select the 'Fill and Sign' feature to sign a document, but you will get an error message if you click 'Get Others to Sign.' WVU employees who need to collect multiple signatures on a document or in a workflow can purchase Adobe Sign transactions by filling out the SLIC Software Request Form.

Licensing restrictions:

This software can only be used on WVU computers for WVU purposes.

Adobe Sign must not be used to collect information classified as Sensitive Data by the University, which includes, but is not limited to, covered financial information (e.g., bank account numbers, credit card numbers), protected health information, or protected personally identifiable information (e.g., driver’s license number, Social Security number). 

Eligibility:

Faculty can purchase this software for WVU owned computers using WVU funding.

Staff can purchase this software for WVU owned computers using WVU funding.

Students cannot purchase this software through WVU.

Before submitting a request for the software, read the above licensing restrictions to make sure you qualify to use the academic software. If you have any questions, contact SLIC by filling out a software assistance request using the SLIC Software Request Form.

How to order:

WVU Funds: Complete the SLIC Software Request Form if purchasing this with WVU funds. All licenses for WVU-owned computers need to be paid for with WVU funding. Once your order is submitted, SLIC will send you an invoice for your order along with instructions on how to make payment.

Personal Funds: Cannot use personal funds to purchase this software through WVU.

Pricing for Captivate and Presenter are prorated quarterly and expire August 11th of each year.

The Adobe Sign contract is a 3-year contract that expires on September 30th, 2024. Any transactions purchased expire annually on September 30th and are required to be renewed each year of the contract term.

Adobe ColdFusion licenses come with maintenance/upgrade rights that expire on January 11, 2023. The price of ColdFusion is prorated based on the order date.
