Microsoft Audio Conferencing

Sometimes people in your organization will need to use a phone to call into a meeting. Office 365 includes the Audio Conferencing feature for just this situation. People can call into a Microsoft Teams meeting using a phone, instead of using the Microsoft Teams app on a mobile device or PC.

An Microsoft Audio Conferencing license is required to host or create a Microsoft Teams meeting that contains a dial-in phone number. Participants can then use the phone number to dial into the audio portion of the meeting. These meetings allow up to 250 phone attendees.

Licensing restrictions

This software is a subscription license available for purchase by WVU employees for WVU purposes. Subscription licenses for Microsoft expire on June 30th. The cost in the below “Pricing” section is an annual fee. Licenses purchased after July 1st will be prorated based on the price quoted by the vendor.

When submitting this request, you are also agreeing that you need the subscription version of this software. If you are unsure of whether you need this version of the software or not, please contact your local IT group to make sure before submitting the request.

Eligibility

Faculty can purchase.

Staff can purchase.

Students cannot purchase this software through WVU.

How to order

WVU Funds: Complete the SLIC Software Request Form if purchasing this with WVU funds. All licenses for WVU-owned computers need to be paid for with WVU funding. Once your order is submitted, SLIC will send you an invoice for your order along with instructions on how to make payment.

Personal Funds: Personal funds cannot be used.

Pricing

The current cost for this service is $17.37 per year per user and is prorated based on our annual renewal date of June 30th. Licenses must be purchased for the remainder of our contract with Microsoft, which can be up to a 3-year term. This means that you are agreeing to renew this software for each year remaining in our contract. Our current contract ends on June 30, 2021. Software Licensing will send renewal invoices for this license in June. Funding information is required when submitting your request.
