SAS is a software suite for advanced analytics, business intelligence, data management, and predictive analytics. By creating real intelligence from raw data from any source, SAS transforms operational resources into knowledge you can act on.

Licensing restrictions

Licensee may only use these programs for teaching and non-commercial academic research on computers owned or leased by Licensee. Non-commercial academic research means research by degree-seeking students and faculty members where:

  • The results of such research are not intended primarily for the benefit of a third party

  • Such results are made available to anyone without restriction on use, copying or further distribution

  • Any copy of any such result is furnished for no more than the cost of hosting, reproduction, and shipping. Any other use including but not limited to university administration and operations is strictly prohibited

Eligibility

Faculty and staff (academic researchers) can download this software on WVU-owned computers.p

Students can purchase this software for their Personal computers using personal funds. If a student worker, GA, GRA, etc., needs this software on a WVU computer for academic research purposes, their supervisor must submit a request.

SAS is available to students for free through Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). 

Before submitting a request for the software, read the above licensing restrictions to make sure you qualify to use the academic software. If you have any questions, contact SLIC by filling out a software assistance request using thSLIC Software Request Form.

Install or order SAS

WVU-owned computers: Use the Software Center, Companty Portal or Self Service to download a license on your WVU-owned computer.

Personal computers: Complete the SLIC Software Request Form if purchasing with personal funds. All licenses paid for with personal funds need to be installed on personally-owned computer.
