ALFI (Animal Lab & Facility Inspections) is an application used to standardize and streamline facility inspections. To see an overview of ALFI, watch the YouTube video An Introduction to ALFI . ALFI is used to view schedules, confirm inspections, record deficiencies and edit comments quickly and easily. For more information on how to record inspection details and see the inspection review process, see the Recording Inspections Quick Guide and the Inspector Confirmation Quick Guide.
Logging in:
Log into ALFI with your WVU Login credentials.
Authenticate using Duo two-factor.
Record inspection details:
On the menu on the left, under Inspections, select Perform and wait for the inspection information download to complete.
Note: You will need to have network or WiFi access to successfully download the inspection information.
Once the inspection information is available, select the Pencil Icon to begin inspecting rooms.
From your Ongoing inspections list, choose a room to add any noted deficiencies.
If deficiencies are found, you can note them by selecting Add next to New Deficiencies.
Note: When adding deficiencies, ALFI will helpfully suggest options that match the room usage.
You can also note recommendations by inputting them in the textbox under Recommendation.
When all deficiencies and recommendations have been noted, you can select the Room Complete option. Or, if you could not inspect the room, select Could Not Inspect.
After all rooms have been inspected, you can select the Complete button.
Inspection review:
After the inspection has been marked as complete, it will then go to the Office of Animal Welfare (OAW) Admin group for review.
You will then receive the inspection again to confirm or edit details.
To add or edit comments, select the pencil icon in the Inspection Comments section.
Once you have made corrections, select Confirm.
OAW admins will then finalize the inspection and send a report to the responsible parties.
