To add a Duo display token to your account on your own, you must already have a smartphone or tablet associated with your Duo account. Otherwise, you must contact the ITS Service Desk at 304-293-4444 to complete setup.
Go to login.wvu.edu and click Print Backup Codes or Add Duo Token.
Sign in and authenticate using the device that’s already associated with your Duo account.
Click Add Token.
Review the Duo Token Terms and Conditions, click Agree and click Submit.
Enter your token’s serial number, which can be found on the back of the device.
Press the green button on your Duo token to generate a series of three authentication codes. Wait until a code disappears on the token before generating the next code. This could take up to 15 seconds. Enter each six-digit code into its respective field.
Click Add. A message will appear at the top of the page letting you know the token has been added to your account successfully.
You can now use your Duo token to authenticate.
Your Duo display token can fall out of sync if you press the button too many times without using the generated codes. If that happens, you can resync your token.
