Where can I find my registration date and time?
Refer to the Pre-Registration Priority Dates to see your assigned registration date. You will also receive an email with an assigned time slot. This time slot indicates when you can begin registration on your registration date. The time is randomly assigned and cannot be changed. You can view your registration date and time slot in DegreeWorks. If you don't see your assigned time slot, contact the Office of the University Registrar at registrar@mail.wvu.edu. Refer to the Registrar's Time Ticketing page for more information about registration time slots.

Note: If a registration is unsuccessful, your Summary Status will show an error message and your Action option will change to Remove. If you experience an error message while trying to register, check the Student Registration Issues and Errors article for common errors and their solutions.

Enter your search criteria to find a course. You can search for different criteria using the Find Classes or Enter CRNs tabs.

To register for a course, click the Add button. This will add the course to your Summary. You can choose to search for other classes, enter a CRN, or register for the class(es) in your Summary by clicking the Submit button.
Note: You must click Submit to register for a course. Courses left in your Summary are set as pending. If you leave this page before submitting items in the Summary, all pending courses will be lost. You will receive a warning message if you try to navigate from this page before submitting your courses.

If registration is successful, you will see a green Save Successful message and the Summary Status will change to Registered. No further actions are needed. Your Schedule window will show your registered courses in a calendar view. Click the Schedule Details tab to view more information.

How do I know if there are restrictions that might prevent me from registering for a course?
Visit courses.wvu.edu to search the current catalog of courses available.
In the Select a Term for Class Search dropdown, click on the academic term for which you want to register. Then click Continue.
Click in the Subject field to see a list of subjects appear. Click to select one or multiple subjects. You can also begin typing the name of a subject to see matching results and select.
Enter information into any other fields to narrow your search, such as course number, title, campus, instructor, meeting days, or keyword.
At the bottom of the page, click Search.
In the search results, click on the Title of the course. The class details window will open.
Click the Restrictions tab on the left side to view any restrictions on registering for this course. Click other tabs to view details, bookstore links, description, special attributes, the instructor and meeting times, and more.
How do I change my credit hours/variable credit course?
Log into the WVU Portal.
Click the STAR link. If prompted, enter your Login credentials to continue.
Click the Student Services & Housing tab.
Click Registration.
Click Access Registration Tools.
Click Add or Drop Classes.
Select a term for registration from the dropdown menu and click Continue.
Select the Schedule and Options tab.
If a class has flexible credit hours, the credit hour will be underlined. Click the underlined credit hour and enter the new credit hour.
Click Submit.
How do I drop a course online?
If you have mistakenly registered for the wrong class while creating your schedule or wish to drop a class during the semester, view the Drop or Withdraw From Classes FAQ for instructions.
I'm having trouble registering and I'm receiving an error message. Where can I get help?
