To ensure that WVU remains compliant with vendor license requirements, starting on September 14, 2022, access to download and install Oracle Java on WVU Owned computers will be restricted to only approved users. Java download will not be directly available on campus and all WVU computers will be scanned every time a user logs in. Unauthorized installations will be removed remotely.

The list of approved licensed users is updated every 2-4 hours, Monday through Friday. Once Once this list has been updated, approved users can download Oracle's Java from the Company Portal, Software Center, or Self Service.
