Update Your Personal Information

Students, employees, and sponsored guests can use the Personal Information Change Form to complete a legal name change, update an incorrect date of birth or social security number, or update other directory information.

Students

• Students can update their phone numbers or mailing addresses through STAR.

• Current and former students who are unable to access this form should contact the Office of the University Registrar at 304-293-5355 or registrar@mail.wvu.edu to update their personal information.

• Newly admitted students should contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office at 304-293-2121 to update their personal information.

Employees

• Employees can update their phone number or mailing address through the MyHR tab in portal.wvu.edu.

• Research Corporation employees can update their addresses on the Research Corp Portal.

• Contact Shared Services if you need an email address changed in MAP.

Chosen name changes

• View the Chosen Name Change FAQ for steps to display your chosen name across supported WVU systems.

• View Change Your Zoom Display Name for steps to display your chosen name during meetings.

• If you would like to update your displayed name for your MIX Gmail, you can change your "Send as" name:

  • Log into your MIX Gmail account. 

  • Click the gear icon then Settings.

  • Click the Accounts tab.

  • Select edit info next to Send mail as: to enter a chosen name
