Installation troubleshooting

Most Fusion installation problems are due to the prerequisites not being installed and the computer not being restarted beforehand. Ensure you have completed all the installation steps above. If you still experience installation issues, try these steps:

  • Delete the following folder(s) and try installing again:
    c:\currentuser\AppData\Local\Apps\Fusion\2.0 or c:\%currentuser%\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0

  • In the most recent Windows 10 revisions (usually 1909 and up) Windows Defender will block the install of Fusion. When the Windows Defender Window pops up stating that the install is unsafe, click More Info then Run Anyway. The install should proceed.

  • The install might also "fail" saying that the Microsoft POS plugin or .NET is already installed. These need to be installed before Fusion as stated in the instructions above. If you see this message, restart the computer and then run the Fusion installer again. Firefox is the recommended browser for running the Fusion installer.
