If you can’t open Word documents (particularly .docx files) in eCampus, your browser may be set to open the files in the browser by default. This happens most commonly in Windows Microsoft Edge.

Follow these steps if you can’t open Office documents in eCampus while using Microsoft Edge.

  1. Open Microsoft Edge settings (by clicking on the 3 dots in the top right-hand corner of the browser).

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Select Downloads.

  4. Select the toggle switch to disable Open Office files in the Browser by turning it Off.
