Members of the Alumni Association can use their FacebookLinkedInMicrosoft or Google account to access some WVU systems, like the WVU Library databases.

Employees will receive an error message if they attempt to log in using a social media/email account. For more information, view the How to Log in with Federated Access (Cirrus) article. 

Login with social media/email for the first time:

You will only have to link your account and verify your identity once. 

Alumni:

  1. Go to library.wvu.edu/services/alumni.

  2. Select the EBSCO database you'd like to access.

  3. Choose an email or social media platform and sign in with your personal account information.

  4. Once signed in, click Link account.

  5. Enter your first name, last name, birthdate and WVUID number.

  6. Click Submit to verify your identity. 

If you receive an error on the Find Your Existing Account page, check the information and try again. If you receive a 400 error when using Safari, please try another browser. 

Log in with social media/email account (after linking and verifying)

Alumni:

  1. Go to library.wvu.edu/services/alumni.  

  2. Select the EBSCO database you'd like to access. (Retirees click the WVU Libraries Databases Portal link)

  3. Choose the email or social media platform you linked and sign in with your personal account information.

  4. Click the button for the database you wish to access. 

You can only use one social media/email account for access. If you'd like to unlink an account and use a different one, contact the ITS Service Desk at 304-293-4444
