Blank Page in WVU+kc

If you receive a blank page within the WVU+kc application, it may be the result of a new security setting in Firefox.

Problem

While using Firefox, you receive a blank page within the WVU+kc application upon closing or submitting an IRB protocol or award. 

Solution

Although the system appears to have frozen, the action being requested was processed. This is due to a new security setting in Firefox (36.0.1). To change this setting, complete the following steps.

  1. Open a new tab in Firefox and type about:config

  2. Press the Enter key. 

  3. You may get a warning about voiding the warranty. If you receive this warning, click I'll be careful, I promise!

  4. A very long list of settings will show. Either scroll through them until you find security.mixed_content.block_active_content or use the Firefox search function at the top of the page and search for mixed. Double-click on security.mixed_content.block_active_content, which will change the value to false.

  5. Restart Firefox. The blank pages issue should be resolved.
