Add a Network Drive to a Mac
Below are the steps for adding a network drive to your Mac.
Connect to VPN to add a network drive while working remotely or off-campus.
Before You Begin
Before starting, check to be sure the correct DNS Suffixes are listed under the adapter settings. To do this:
From the Wi-Fi icon on the menu bar, click Open Wi-FI settings.
Click Details.
Click on the DNS tab and if http://wvu.edu and wvu-ad.wvu.edu are not already there, add them in that order.
How To Add the Network Drive
Click Go on the menu bar and click Connect to Server
Type in the server address to which you are trying to connect:
The N drive will be “smb://wvu-ad.wvu.edu/Data”
The J drive will be “smb://wvu-ad.wvu.edu/Home/UserHome” or “smb://wvu-ad.wvu.edu/Home/UserHome2”
The S drive will be “smb://wvusa-fscluster.wvu-ad.wvu.edu/FSroot$/Share"
Click the + sign to add this server to your favorite servers then select the server you want to connect to.
Click Connect.
