FTP-Depot Troubleshooting

Below are troubleshooting steps for common FTP-Depot problems.

Cannot see files on FTP-Depot

Once the files are stored on FTP-Depot, you must use the "dir" command to get a directory listing to view the files. If you use command and still cannot see the files, contact the ITS Service Desk.

Problems connecting to FTP-Depot

If you have trouble connecting to FTP-Depot, check your operating system. If you have Windows 10 loaded with the Windows Firewall enabled, the firewall will block access to ftp-depot.wvu.edu . Disable the firewall, then test the FTP-Depot connection again.

Connection closes without error

FTP-Depot accounts are locked to a specific IP address. If you attempt to access FTP-Depot from another location, the connection will terminate. If you need another IP to access the account, contact the ITS Service Desk.
