What’s different about Ultra courses?

eCampus Ultra has a more streamlined course design, with all instructional content (learning modules, readings, links, documents, and assignments & tests) located on the Content page. On the left menu area of the content page, you’ll find links to many useful tools. A tabbed menu at the top allows you to switch to view the course calendar, discussions, grade book, and analytics.

How can I request a development shell to begin building my course?

You can request an Ultra development shell in eCampus via the ERS (eCampus Request System). A link can be found on the Tools page in your main eCampus navigation menu, too.

Be sure to add the word “Ultra” under Special Instructions on the request form. Creating a new development shell may take 3-5 business days to generate, depending on demand.

How can I request a production shell to actually teach in Ultra?

Instructors can request a live production course shell for the Spring 2025 semester by submitting the Ultra Production Course Request for each section. If you want to convert multiple sections, you can submit a request for multiple sections using this spreadsheet .

Can I just copy course content into Ultra from an earlier course?

Yes. Full instructions are available. After you have imported your course into the Ultra version of eCampus, carefully inspect all course items to make sure that all content was imported properly. Because of differences in the two versions, you may need to recreate some content in the Ultra course. For example, Ultra does not have “ordered” tests and does not support learning modules within learning modules. You will not be able to import these from your original course to an Ultra course.

Will training be available?

eCampus Ultra 101 training resources are available on demand in the IT Help Center. Additionally, the ITS training team offers virtual sessions for people who are new to using Ultra at the start of both the fall and spring semesters.
