You can create several different types of assignments in eCampus that will help determine your students’ level of mastery. These may include self or peer-assessments and multiple third-party tools assignments (Turnitin, Voice Thread, or publisher-created). Each assessment you create in the eCampus course will be added to the Gradebook as a new column and calculated into overall grade for the course.

Assessment Results

These options apply only to tests with questions chosen in Initial Step 3 above. For a typical assignment (paper, oral presentation), these options would not apply.

  1. Submission: Allows control over whether students are able to have access to their submissions after they complete an assessment.

  2. Automated Question Feedback: Provide students with feedback that automatically releases based on chosen settings.

  3. Question Scores: Allows students to see the test questions and their scores for each question.

  4. Correct Answers: Allows students to see the correct answers for each question.

Assessment Security

These options are typically used for tests, not assignments.

  1. Access code: You can add an access code to control when students and groups take a test. At this time, the access code is generated at random by the system.

  2. Respondus Lockdown Browser: require students to use a browser that prevents them from accessing other screens while taking an online test.

Additional tools

  1. Add Time limit: You can set a time limit for the assignment, but for an assignment, you would more typically enter a due date.

  2. Add grading rubric: You can add a rubric to help you evaluate student submissions based on key criteria that you define. You can create a new rubric or associate a rubric that you’ve already created.
NOTE: At this time, you can only add a rubric to a test without questions.

  3. Goals & standards: You can align a test to one or multiple goals.

  4. Assigned groups: You can create a group here or choose a group already created. By default, you assign a grade to each group as a whole, but you can change a group member’s individual grade.

  5. Description: Add an optional description: The description appears with the Assignment title on the Course Content area. The description is limited to 750 characters.
