As the sponsor communicates the status of an application to your institution, you may need to respond to sponsor requests, or want to reflect the current status on the funding proposal. For example, the sponsor issues a Just-In-Time (JIT) change request which you must satisfy before they will issue an award. Or, the sponsor indicates an award is to be granted, but official notification won't be issued for a month. In the best case, the sponsor issues an official award notification.
