In eCampus Ultra, you will see submitted assignments right in the gradebook… a paragraph about the general method or ways to access the manual grading options in Ultragradebook.

  1. Open the student’s submission for this test or assignment.

    1. From the content item’s Submissions list: click 1 attempt to grade.

    2. From the Gradebook grid/spreadsheet view: click Grade Now.

  2. Scroll through the test to view all auto-graded questions' scores and locate the questions which require manual grading.

  3. In the example image, question 4 is an essay question. Review the student’s Answer below the question.

    1. Compare the content of the student's answer to the Example of a correct response that you supplied when the test question was written.

  4. Click in the score bubble above the question to enter a score for the student’s answer.

    1. Click outside the bubble or press Enter to save the score.

  5. If you want to share Feedback for the student, click in the panel on the right to provide comments about the essay question or the whole test. Formatting options allow you to include links and other content in the feedback.

    1. Save any feedback you have entered.

  6. Once all manually graded questions are complete, the overall test score will be appear at the top of the submission. Close (X) the individual student submission to return to the item’s Submissions list.

  7. If this test/assignment is set to require manual grade posting (you did not select to post grades automatically), a button to Post 1 grade will now appear in the Post column.

    1. You can post each student’s grade separately or click the Post all grades button at the top of the Submissions list.

Align tests or assignments with WVU’s list of content standards and learning goals as a guide for course assessments. When creating an assessment, you will find this option in the Settings panel. Click the link to view and search the institution’s many goals and standards. You can also request to have the eCampus team add a new set of goals for your course. Goals & standards can be useful guides for students and instructors where rubrics cannot be applied, too.
